First before I start, I got pissed because I didn't get a copy of the
Final Fantasy 8 Official Strategy Guide. Videogames stores, Books
store, and anywhere else here (Even my friends ran out and they didn't
get a copy). So I don't know where to get the items needed for
remodeling. Well exploring and battling everywhere in the world of Final
Fantasy 8 for some hours paid off. This FAQ is only a Mini-Guide for
upgrading weapons. The FAQ includes where to find the required items for
remodeling and where to get them. I still have to put Where the
locations of where to find the monsters that has the items needed (Well
I forgot where to find some of the other items)
So lets Begin!!!

SOMETHING TO HELP YOU GET RARE ITEMS
-------------------------------------
1. First you must have learned the MUG from Diablos or even better both
Bahamut\Diablos so two characters will have the MUG ability. Then let
one character have the ability of Bahamut's RARE ITEM+MUG or Eden's RARE
ITEM if you got it already. Mostly you can find the rare ones on the
Island nearest to hell. The rare items found there are mostly for the
last special weapons (Tough monsters) here you can Level up if you want
to.
2. Plus also you must have learned Quetzacoatl CARD MOD ability. Some
cards can be change to an item that needed for remodeling with this
ability.
3. Also learn in additional LVL Down ability from Tonberry and LVL UP.
Leveling down monsters or Leveling them up then finish them. You will
receive some different items my friend (FREEKBoy6) Taught me that
THANKS!.
4. When I was playing the game, I reached DISC 3 again found out that
the items you get are getting different on each monsters. I am not sure
if all monsters. My girlfriend said that you get it when your level is
getting higher and if you finished some monster for several times. I
said Huh! First I didn't believe her, well at the end I did, we started
DISC 2-3 and it proves that it does happened. Then she mentioned from
LVL 40 and so on you will start getting some luckily, but don't expect
every time and I do mean luck.
NOTE 1: Most descriptions of the Weapons are taken from the game. I'm
Still finding more monsters where to get similar items. So if you know
anything where to find items on monster where not listed below please
send it in, contributions on this FAQ will be credited. Remember only
contributions about weapons.
NOTE 2: I am playing the game again to locate those monsters that has
the items, well its FF8 it's not worth boring, it is a great game to
play over and over again, a next update maybe delayed (But not long). Be
sure to check GameFaqs for my updates. So you great gamers if you want
to help me locate those monster please send it in, contributions on this
FAQ will be credited. Remember only contributions about weapons.

"The taciturn and reluctant hero"
Description: A cadet in SeeD, the special combat unit of the Balamb Garden
Military Academy. His aloof and anti-social behavior makes him appear selfish
and lacking a sense of team unity. Squall dislikes having others involved in his
affairs, and is best described as a lone wolf.

REVOLVER:
Squall's basic weapon. The Gun blade's original model is the Revolver. It
lacks in power, it more than makes up for its reliability.

M-Stone Piece (Balamb)- From Bite Bug and Funguar receive as a battle prize or
change card to an item.
Screw (Galbadia, Dollet, and Timber)- From Geezard receive as a battle prize or

SHEAR TRIGGER:
An improvement in power over the Revolver, Shear Trigger uses the same
blade as the Revolver, but the gun aspect is now more powerful.
Items needed for remodeling:
Steel Pipe = 1
Screw = 4
Where to find:
Steel Pipe (Galbadia and Dollet)- Mug from Elastoid/ Change the card into an
item, from Wendigo Mug or receive as a battle prize.
Screw (Galbadia, Dollet, and Timber)- From Geezard receive as a battle prize or
change card into an item.

CUTTING TRIGGER:
The Cutting Trigger is the latest model of gun blade, made by replacing
the blade of the Revolver with the powerful Cutting Sword.
Items needed for remodeling:
Mesmerize Blade = 1
Screw = 8
Where to find:
Mesmerize Blade (Trabia)- From Mesmerize receive as a battle prize change card
into an item.
Screw (Galbadia, Dollet, and Timber)- From Geezard receive as a battle prize
change card into an item.

FLAME SABER:
The Flame Saber got its name from its red blade. This gun blade is very
similar to the Shear Trigger. The only difference is that it has the
Cutting Trigger's handle.
Items needed for remodeling:
Betrayal Sword = 1
Turtle Shell = 1
Screw = 4
Where to find:
Betrayal Sword (Centra Ruins and Esthar)- From Forbidden receive as a battle
prize change card into an item.
Turtle Shell (Tomb of the unknown King)- Adamantoise/ Change the card to an item
or receive as a battle prize.
Screw (Galbadia, Dollet, and Timber)- From Geezards receive as a battle prize
change card into an item.

TWIN LANCE:
The Twin Lance is a gun blade forged with two blades. The two blades work
synergistically to inflict severe damage. The only drawback is its heavy
weight.
Items needed for remodeling:
Dino Bone = 1
Red Fang = 2
Screw = 12
Where to find:
Dino Bone (Balamb/Training Center and Island closest to hell)- From T-Rexaur/
Change card into an item, Mug or receive as a battle prize.
Red Fang (Esthar and Island closest to hell)- From Hexadragon receive as a
battle prize.
Screw (Galbadia, Dollet, and Timber)- From Geezard receive as a battle prize
change card into an item.

PUNISHMENT:
The Punishment looks almost identical to the Twin Lance, but it is
lighter and more powerful. The only gun blade more powerful than this is
the Lion Heart.
Items needed for remodeling:
Chef's Knife = 1
Star Fragment = 2
Turtle Shell = 1
Screw = 8
Where to find:
Chef's Knife (Centra Ruins)- From Tonberry change card to an item or receive as
a battle prize.
Star Fragment (Island closest to hell and Deep sea deposit)- Sometimes on
Hexadragons w/RARE ITEM ability received as a battle prize.
Turtle Shell (Tomb of the unknown King)- From Adamantoise/ Change card into an
item or receive as a battle prize.
Screw (Galbadia, Dollet, and Timber)- From Geezard receive as a battle prize
change card into an item.

LION HEART:
Of all gun blades (a sword-gun weapon), the finest model is Lion Heart.
It requires rare items to be remodeled to its highest quality.
Items needed for remodeling:
Adamantine = 1
Dragon Fang = 4
Pulse Ammo = 12
Where to find:
Adamantine (Long horn island some where north west)- defeat Adamantoise
or Change Minotaur card into item.
Dragon Fang (Island closest to hell and Shumi tribe area)- From Blue Dragon
w/RARE ITEM ability receive as a battle prize or w/LVL DOWN ability from
Tonberry Level him down between 1-10 and receive it as a battle prize.
Pulse Ammo (Lunatic Pandora)- Elnoyle w/LVL UP ability from Tonberry level him
up 50 to 60 and receive it as a prize w/RARE ITEM ability receive Energy Crystal
and then change it to a 12 Pulse Ammo, or change Lazer Cannon 5
Pulse Ammo/Power Generator 20 Pulse Ammo.

PINWHELL:
A weapon that can be used from a distance and have many advantages. The
Pinwheel is one of the more basic projectile weapons.

change card to an item.

VALKYRIE:
Valkyrie is a projectile weapon that can fly straight at the enemy using
its stabilizing fins. The blade is extremely deadly.

Shear Feather = 1
Magic Stone = 1
Where to find:
Shear Feather (Galbadia and Timber)- From Thrustavais receive as a battle prize.
Magic Stone (Centra Ruins)- From Jelleye receive as a battle prize.

RISING SUN:
The Rising Sun is similar to a circular saw. It is made by upgrading the
Pinwheel. It is capable of slicing into enemies like a spinning saw and
dealing a devastating blow.

Saw Blade = 1

Where to find:
Saw Blade (Galbadia)- From Belhemel receive as a battle prize change card into
an item.
Screw (Galbadia, Dollet, and Timber)- From Geezard receive as a battle prize
change card into an item.

CARDINAL:
The Cardinal is the latest line of projectile weapons. The wide fins
provide more stability and accuracy compared to the Valkyrie. Its
greater accuracy cause more damage.

Mesmerize Blade = 1
Sharp Spike = 1
Where to find:
Cockatrice Pinion (Galbadia and Esthar)- From Cockatrice receive as a battle
prize change card into an item.
Mesmerize Blade (Trabia)- From Mesmerize receive as a battle prize change card

Sharp Spike(Centra Ruins and Esthar)- From Grand Mantis/Death Claw change card
into an item.

SHOOTING STAR:
Now this is the finest weapon the Shooting Star. Don't let the angel wing
motif fool you. Its a deadly weapon.

Windmill = 2
Regen Ring = 1
Force Armlet = 1
Energy Crystal = 2
Where to find:
Windmill (Galbadia)- From Abyss Worm change card to an item.
Regen Ring(Esthar and Island close to hell)- Steal from Toroma/Chimera or battle
prize. Change card into an item.
Force Armlet (Island closest to heaven)- From Ochu and Malboro. Or the battle
with the Sorceress on the second time you win it by luck. At the Esthar pet shop.
Energy Crystal (Esthar)- From Ruby Dragon w/LVL UP ability defeat him and
receive as a battle prize.

A punch can be a deadly weapon, but it can be made even more effective
by wearing these, the Metal Knuckle. These gloves are widely used.

MAVERICK:
With the Maverick, the combatant can deliver direct punching blows to
the enemy. The gloves are made of black leather and have metal plates on
the knuckles.

change card to an item.
Spider Web (Balamb)- From Caterchipillar receive as a battle prize change card
into an item.

GAUNTLET:
The Gauntlet is covered with layers of steel. It is a fighting glove for
delivering heavy rather than smooth blows.

prize.
Fury Fragment (Trabia and Island closest to hell)- From Blue Dragon w/Rare Item

EHRGEIZ:
Ehrgeiz is the most powerful fighting glove. It allows the wearer to
deliver optimal hits based on his or her abilities.

Chain Whip has a simple design, but is very reliable in battle.

This whip, the Slaying Tail, is known for its tremendous speed and
power. It is named after Sleipner, the horse of the legendary GF Odin.

The Red Scorpion is a unique whip made of rare materials. Its strength
comes from the Dragon Skin, while its flexibility comes from the Ochu
Tentacle.

Ochu Tentacle (Trabia, Timber, and Island closest to hell)- From Ochu receive as

SAVE THE QUEEN:
Save the Queen is the most powerful whip in the world. It is made with
Malboro's Tentacle which are the most ideal material for making whips.

Malboro Tentacle (Island closest to heaven)- From Malboro w/Rare Item ability

Even a weakling can cause serious damage with this type of Nunchaku but
they're also hard to use. This Flail has long been a favorite for
beginners.

The end of the Morning Star were equipped spike metal balls to cause
more damage. It is a plain weapon, similar to Nunchaku, but it is fairly
effective.

The Crescent Wish is an extreme powerful weapon. Some rare items are
required to forge the weapon.

This Strange Vision is famous for its ability to hit a target with
perfect accuracy. Its also famous for its rarity.

Change Minotaur card into item.

VALIANT:
Guns have the advantages of range, but damage is less compared to
swords. The Valiant uses powerful bullets to cause damage comparable to
swords.

ULYSSES:
The Ulysses lacks style, but is a quality rifle with tremendous fire
power. The inelegant design was necessary to absorb the powerful recoil
after firing.

BISMARCK:
Contrary to the Ulysses, the Bismarck has a sleek look. The rifle is
very handy and light, but in turn requires more physical strength and
energy to handle its powerful recoil.

Exeter comes to mind when considering high powered guns. Despite its
simple design, its a fine weapon made of many rare materials.
